Default Remote Entry Question

2006 Ram 3500 with 5.9 Cummins.

I have been fighting this problem since I bought the truck new. First it started out with RKE just plain wouldn't work. After 4 trys at the dealership where I bought the truck they got it working, but still not the way I thought it should. Anyway now to the current problem. The RKE works until it gets really hot outside. When hot, you can't lock the doors, unlock the doors, or use the panic button. Nothing works! In the winter, or when fairly cool the RKE seems to work.

Whatever it is, it seems to be temprature related on the inside of the truck. Meaning if I have the inside of the truck cool from the A/C, the RKE will work no matter how hot it is on the outside.

I'm starting to drive this truck more now than I use to, and it starting to be a pain, especially since it is summer. Last summer I took it in to the dealership where I live at now to tried to get it fixed. They put a new battery in the key and reprogrammed both keys. That worked until about 2 days later when it got 95 degrees outside.

Anyway if anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.

Regards

Possibly a bad connection? It seems crazy to think but maybe when it gets hot things expand and something loses connection?

Agreed and on top of that I would be looking at the RKE module first.

the wcm is i beleive what controls the RKE and control features.
check all connections and such.
warm weather can and has caused tiny swelling of wires insulation and loosened the connection and when it gets cold it contracts and makes a good connection

Thanks for the ideas. I think the RKE module is on the back of the instrument cluster, but where is the WCM module located.

I think the "antenna" for the system is in the roof. That would explain high temps causing the problem.
