Debadged, but need help! (Pics)
Agreed. Now that I went out and checked it out again, the white areas really do feel like finished paint.
Any thoughts on the tailgate pics? Is that something I should just cover up and deal with later or is there something I should look into that could help with the finish?

on mine the glue behind my badges was BLACK tar like stuff . on yours it looks CLEAR ? never seen that unless it was done afterwords , the factory badges are put on with black tar stuff like i said and i have de badged a few of ram's and all have the nasty black glue , and also i used a 3M earaser wheel also and never seen it do that before on any decal or glue i have taken off . sorry for your luck thats a tough fix to make it right now...
Yeah, I had the black adhesive just as you describe, rideon20z - those pics were taken after the adhesive was removed. The paint on the passenger door came off with the adhesive in some spots - in the spots it didn't come off, it is still raised where the badges used to be....
After sleeping on it, I think I'll take the suggestion to colormatch the badges and put them back on. Aside from repainting the door, that's the only solution I can think of so that it doesn't look like a$$ driving down the road.
On that note, anything special I need to do to prep the badges? I plan on sanding the chrome finish off, using a plastic primer, then some duplicolor to match the paint. After that, I'll find some 3M adhesive and right back on they go - out of sight, not quite out of mind until I can afford to go back and fix it the correct way....

Perfect, thanks Matt99.
Thanks so much to everyone for all the replies - I'm sure you can imagine how I felt after the paint started coming off so very easily
I'll be sure to post some pics after I get them painted and back on..

It's a 4wd and the paint will never be perfect clean it up as best you can. I would buy some matched paint and a spray gun and shoot it myself. It looks like you have plenty of work ahead of you so I would work a section at a time until I was satisfied with the entire body. Good luck...
Bringing this one back from the dead but finally got around to pulling off the aftermarket decals off my truck and thought I'd get rid of the SLT badge on the tailgate. Either the tailgate is embossed to match the badge which I don't think it is or someone painted tight over the tape before reapplying the badge since it looks a lot like this picture althought mine looks nice and clean. The tailgate should be smooth right?? I guess it's going back on but at least most of it looks cleaner now. An no nothing else is coming off since I do like the ram and dodge lettering with the few other chrome things I have.
