Default Fender rust grrrrrr!!!

MY 2003 Ram 1500 4x4 has just started bubbling rust around the rear fenders...I am sick. I have read that the quick fix is to buy flares. Well, will you guy give me some input on these ?

had the same problem on my 03 pass side. i caught it before it came above the lip of the wheel well. was only surface rust. so i sanded it down to clean metal, primed it, painted it, and cleared it. youd never know it was there.

oh and i wouldnt get those flares personally. just my 2 cents

Having the same problem with my 03. Driver side fender started bubbling up a bit over the winter, and has since spreaded and i now have some paint cracked. Not too sure of a fix though.. Thought about fender flares to go with the lift I just ordered.. But soon I'm scared it would rust to the point of losing a flare :O so I'm interested in this one..

I have the same thing happening to my rear passenger side. The flares would just cover it up until it spreads...If it's early enough try doing what Tony did. I'm goign to a couple auto body places this week to get some quotes. I have a few other problems on that side that need fixed anyways.

Eh, metal rusts..really not a whole lot you can do about it rusting, especially in the midwest where salt is prevalent in the winter. Fortunately my truck came factory with the flares and trim package so mines not bad but the doors are starting to get it..In addition to flares, I have seen people use Herculiner on the bottom 4-6 inches of the whole truck as a rust preventer.
