Default Need advice on purchase asap !

2003 ram 1500 short, 4.7 manual shift .. 210 000 km,s ...4500.00 canadian , solid truck , assuming all works well ...is it worth it. What should i look for when overhauling it ? is there a way to tell if motor is original just by looking at it ? The guy said only trouble with it was air cond. was not working well, and the box was bashed in a bit and pulled out and repainted .
By the way...mt black 96 ram is for sale , 2500.00 , its in my profile.

I dunno what that equals in US dollars, but I'm assuming around $4k?

Good running truck would probably be worth it. I know a couple of people with 4.7s with up around 230-250,000 miles on them. One a Grand Cherokee, the other a Dak.

If it was me, I'd probably invest about $75 in a compression test. Better to spend that and be able to walk away, than buy it and find it needs an engine later. If it passes, I'd prolly jump on it...

Ok..i bought it...but it seems kinda under powered , i don't know if it would do 100 mph , i ran it in 5th gear hammer down and got it up to 90 mph on a flat highway, it was still gaining but very slowly, is this the 4.7 nature ? , keep in mind it is 5 speed manual shift.
