2006 Dodge Ram Rotors???
I guess I'm a little confused. About 2 months ago I had a mechanic put new pads on the rear and he also turned the rotors. They did a great job and I have had no problems. Then last week I had the same shop do the same for the front brakes. New pads and turn the rotors. The rotors now look really bad and look chewed up and are rough to the touch. I asked the guy what the deal was and he said it was because the front rotors were "composite" and they couldn't turn them. Even though the tried. I just don't understand why the back brake job went so well and the front brake job was so bad. Your thoughts?????
He is full of chit IMO. Of course they can be turned IF there was enough material (metal) left on them so they can be turned and still be deemed safe to use.
Your front brakes being so bad (sorry to say this) were likely your own fault for not paying closer attention to them and how wore down they were. They wore down past the pads and the pad pltes or brackets wore into the rotors causing grooves. But thats life and we all have done it. Front brakes wear out 2-3x faster than the rear because all the weight is on the front of the truck.
