So, when I traded in my 2001 Ram, it was babied and well taken care of, but the dash was turning into dust, did Dodge fix this problem by 2006? Are the dashes still prone to crack?

 

hadn't heard of the problem being widespread after some of the early '03s...

 

i have a friend with an 05 and another with an 04 thats cracked...just armor all it and put your screen up and you will be alright

Our jaguar has two cracked pieces off the air vents from the sun and its inside the garage...so its just something that will happen eventually under the right (or wrong) circumstances

 

i have not yet had the problem with my 06' i do have a fairley big tint strip, but not big enough to save the whole dash.

 

06 dash will not crack (unless you hit it with a very large hammer). They are made from plastics rather than the polyvinyl chloride found in other years.

yeah that was the only thing about my 2001 i hated was the dash i babied the crap out of that truck had it for ten years and at the end the dash cracked, and cracked , and cracked lol. so i bought an 06 qc hemi i must say when you get a hemi there is nothing like it interior and layout is so much better and compartments and space im definatley digging.
