Default Need Help Fast!!!

Here is the run down...Have 03 Hemi Ram. It needed a right front bearing so I got 2 hub assemblies and figured might as well do new brakes and shocks since the entire thing is coming apart anyway.

So today I start, took me 3 hours just to get the 1 wheel hub assembly off due to rust. A crap load of liquid wrench, torch and sledge finally got it off. I remove the shock no problem. I install my new edelbrock shock, no problem - until its time to tighten it up. I manage to get the control arm up high enough to grab some threads on the shock. As I tighten up the bottom of the shock to the 2 bolts in the control arm, the one bolts snaps clean off!

My new shocks didnt come with bolts like that, they said to reuse the factory supplied bolts. The problem had to be the rust. I didnt really apply much torque. I snugged it up and was going through the one turn to tighten it up.

Cant find these bolts ANYWHERE. They come out of the bottom of the control arm and stick out the other side. No auto parts store carries them. I am going to go to dodge in the morning cuz this truck needs to be up and running by wed so I can go to work. IF I cant find these bolts at dodge - What do you suggest using in its place. Now remember these bolts have a tappered ribbing near the top of the bolt head so they can be hammered in the hole and dont spin. I could probably use another bolt but there is no way to get a wrench in that space to hold the head to tighten the nut. Any ideas would be great help please. I have 24 hrs, and still havent started the other side. Thanks.

they kinda sound similar to what a wheel stud looks like. Maybe if you brought whats left of your bolt to a parts store, they could find something for you.

Also im about three hours from you but I think you should have a store around there somewhere called FASTENAL. Check there too. As there name implies, they can fasten-all.

OR

what he said^^ good luck

Yup I have a fastenal down the street. I knocked out the bolt that didnt snap to bring in. You are right its just like a wheel stud design just smaller. Im already planning on getting 4 new ones so I can just start fresh on the other side and not bother with the old software. Thanks.

Problem solved. Went to fastenal and got grade 8 bolts with lock washers and used red loctite. Seems to have worked just fine, was just lucky I could get my socket into the space between the spring and shock to get a grip on top of the new bolt. So all good, at least now I can go to work without taking the day off over something like a busted bolt. Thanks guys for all the help.
