Torsion bar question
My truck (05 quad cab 4x4) is leveled with a 1" block in the rear. With the stock 275/60's it sits at 40"f and 41"R, which is right. My question is why do my keys have to be turned all the way up with a truxxx leveling kit and shock extenders to get there?
Are my tb shot? When i put in my keys they dont have any pressure till the bolt is halfway in. Before i got the keys the truck wouldn't get completely level.
It rides fine but is not nearly as stiff as alot of you talk about it should be.
Thanks

It's possible your torsion bars have sag. I've not heard of it much on Rams, but my buddy has a '98 Cheby Z71 and we pulled his about five years ago and you could see the bow in them. Replaced them and he gained about 3/4" in the front, had to get an alignment it changed it so much...
Mine are still straight though... I've tried to reposition them a couple times but i cant get them in any other way. Its either no pressure till there half way screwed in or the key is pointed almost straight down with no way to get a c-clamp or anything on it. I'm really stumped. It should be able to go up atleast 2 more inches in the front, right? (in theory of course, I wouldn't stress my cv's like that.)
yeah you SHOULD get more than two inches, i hit almost 4 after i put keys in. that being said my 05 has 38k on it. i wouldnt says its impossible that yours are stressed out. Dont worry i didnt leave it there, looked like i had two ton of gravel in my bed
How can i find out what torsion bar to order? JC Whitney has 11 different listing for an 02-05 ram... This is so frustrating...

Not sure I understand what your problem is but IMO don't change em out till you confirm if they are trashed or not (bowed as per Hammer's Theory) Ie: a "Roll test" on a flat surface like with Sniper Ammo would do it.
Did you crank them all the way? And if you can't get them to turn that far then get out your jack and take the weight off the front end then crank on them.
