Default Most Common High Mileage Hemi Problems?

Looking for a motor to replace my hydrolocked hemi, and found one from an 04 with 124k miles. It is high mileage but since I'm on a tight budget for $500 I might take it. What are the most common problems with these motors as they get older?

Sludge build up inside! About the only thing that comes to mind. 124k isn't too bad for a 500$ motor so my guess is you cant go wrong. Make sure you take a look at the tell tale signs like sludge, filings, and overall appearance of the motor. Pull the PCV and check the TB for build up. If all is good then chances are it was maintained and had regular oil changes. Tons of life in that Hemi yet!! Good luck

Took a look at the truck today, and it's in pretty rough shape. Looked like it's been abused pretty bad, lots of dents and scratches. The motor is still in the truck but it was hit head on, the motor wasn't damaged but it's a tight fit in there. Debating whether I want to pull this motor or not

I have 105k and recently replaced the camshaft position sensor and EGR valve. Those are the only non-scheduled maintenance I've done.
