Default Frontend Sensor??? What is this??

2005 Ram 1500 6 Cylinder. This truck was recently repaired from a frontend collision. We found what looks like a "sensor" wiretied to the front lower crossmember, in front of the condenser fan. What is this?

The photo is an album: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/members...ite-dodge.html

That looks like the temp sensor. Does yours have an overhead console or display the outside temp in the odometer?

correct its the ambient air temperature sensor.it is used for the outside temperature on your over head counsole if you have one and air conditioning specs.
it should have a tab and that tab mounts to the lower bolt of your drivers side headlamp

Thanks to all of you for answering this question. Looks like it is going back in for correct repair today. So much for Toyota of Knoxville's Body Shop!
