I've not read ANY overheating stories. If someone gets overheating with an e-fan, they bought one too small, or didn't set it up right. Mine works just fine in crawling traffic on nasty-hot days.

They add some off-the-line punch, since the motor is not having to turn a cooling fan and move the truck.

I don't know of a lot of people w/ them on the 5.9 but you should be able to do it. Just make sure the fan moves enough cfm of air to keep your engine cool. You could overheat if something went wrong like you blew a fuse or the controller crapped out and you weren't watching the temp. gauge. Of course sometimes the fan clutch goes bad on the stock fans and causes overheating.

i got one on my 02 5.9. if you get one, make sure you GET A CONTOLLER. i went with out one for the first 2 weeks and was controlled by a simple switch under the steering wheel... yeeea not a great idea because i forgot to turn it on (95 degree weather). it over heated and blew my radiato. I now have a controller and it runs Great. oh and i got the taures fan

As said before, get a Taurus e-fan and a controller and be done with it. You will have no over heating issues. I have a Hayden 3647 controller with the fna using the low speed and am fine even on hot days
