Question Putting on 315 70 17 Tires on my 2500

I am thinking of installing 315 70 17 tires on my 2006 stock 2500. Can anyone tell me if I will have to istall a leveling kit with this size of tire. Not sure if I should go up only to a 285 70 17 or not. I am trying to bring my rpm's down. I have 411s and it is running 2k rpm at 65mph.

might could squeeze them with a little rub if you are 4x4. wouldn't hurt if you throw on a level. keep me posted and put up some pics when your done. Welcome

I tried to fit the 315/70/17 on my 2007 2500HD when it had 39,000 km's (not miles) and there is no way it would have worked. I had to install a leveling spacer just to get them to fit and even then, I had to trim a little of my wheel liner so they did not rub at full lock.

Now they fit perfectly and there is no rub at all, even at full articulation while off-roading. It will fill in your wheel wells and the level will give your truck a totally different stance. Way better IMO. I got my level at Fab Bob's Garage and it was less than $100.

Hope this helps.

not sure about the 06's( dont see why they would'nt fit)
or one step down to a 305,if they offer it in the brand tire your looking for
i did with my 04(off road package) they would rub the control arms at full lock only(not a big deal)

What affect did it have on your fuel mileage when you went to 315's?
