Is it possible the noise is only occurring with a load, maybe the driveshaft is rubbing?

not really familiar with exhaust systems but would it be wise at IDLE to let the truck run with out the exhaust on to eliminate it from the equation???

With it being at a specific RPM, it could be harmonics and reverberations from the exhaust causing the sound from elsewhere??

I checked that as well owensue, as well as my u joints on the drive shaft for any signs of wear, they look fine however.

I am thinking about chopping the muffler off myself and testing it to see If the sound is reproducible with no muffler.

I also have considered the remote reverberations like your talking about and checked most things that come to mind like manifold heat shields, underbody heat shields, fuel tank heat shields, linkage, driveshaft, etc. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated bc I may be overlooking something.

I honestly think it's my cats but i really dont want to shell the cash right now and from everything I read it's the muffler baffle welds breaking. Since my muffler now is an aeroturbine 3030xl, it doesn't have the conventional baffles of a fm40, it's got like a airfoil thing, maybe the welds on it weren't done correctly. Idk.

Here in the next 4 weeks I'm gonna chop that sombitch off and see if I can't find the culprit here soon. Ha. any ideas on things I may have overlooked?

Thanks alot guys, I appreciate the input.

Thing is it only happens with a load, I can't pop it in neutral and rev it up to 2100 rpm and make the same sound.

Haha, I could get a louder exhaust but I think it got louder with each exhaust change. Ha.

I originally had the stock muffler, it rattled, switched to a fm40, it rattled, now I'm on the aeroturbine and its rattling even worse. What's the chances of 3 mufflers with bad internal welds???
