I recently bought a 2008 Dodge Ram 4x4 -- and now it is stuck in low 4 wheel drive. I can drive it, but the switch won't put it back to 2 wheel drive -- the dash shows 4 wheel low. Anyone out there have any suggestions? Feel free to email me at ljcobb@comcast.net.

Try putting it in neutral, then switch it. If not, post up in the 3rd Gen Ram section. Welcome to DF.

It worked, I could hear it turn...thank you so much! (Must have been pressure on the gear!). I never thought of that and I really appreciate your help!!!!! Leon

 

to switch in and out of 4lo you have to have it in neutral, at least if it is the electric switch.

 

Thank you so much. It worked like a charm. And believe me, my husband thought he bought a lemon. He is so appreciative (and so am I - he is like a new person now). It was such an easy fix, when you know what to do. Thank you again!
