I would get myself down to Cookeville. Plenty of places to get what you need done in a timely manner. West Side Car Care comes to mind. I've heard nothing but good about them.

Just for the record I wouldn't deal with a Dodge dealership anywhere near the plateau. Cumberland Dodge, Boruff, and East Tn Dodge. I've dealt with all three and won't be back.

replacement engine, over heated, CEL reads p0300 (multiple misfire) and cyl 6 is off bad, smoke out the tail but neither oil nor water and you think fuel

Sounds like a bad injector to me. it is dumping fuel and causing the misfire.

That was my first guess and I think they are going to try the injector today and see what happens.

There is a heat tab that powertainproducts.net places on the block to detect over heated motors. The last time I talked to the my shop the owner said the tab was red and he believed that the tab turned red which voids my warranty so he thinks he can't claim this on my warranty, so I told them I would call powertrain and ask about the tab. I called and they said the tabs they place just melt in the middle which mine has not done but I am not going to tell my shop that because I want another new motor.

I know people say to take it to a better shop but it's too late for that. I have dealt with this shop for almost 2 years and they have always done great work at the lowest price in town plus I know everyone there.

@ JAWalker21 your right!!! But I have heard that the Dodge dealer in Sparta was a good place to go

Well I just got back from my shop. They did a compression test and found that both head gaskets are blown. There is coolant in cylinder # 3 and 6.

The insurance company will have someone come out Monday to look at the truck but they already said it will be covered.

So I will keep my fingers crossed that they will get the air out next time.

That's likely from over heating it unless it over heated from already have blown gaskets.

At least they're claiming responsibility and their insurance is footing the bill. That's rare.
