Default Rke - Remote Keyless Entry

My remotes quit working for my factory keyless entry. I have replaced the batterys and and tried the programming procedure where you get in the vehicle, shut the door, fasten the seat belt, turn ign on, press and hold the unlock button 4-10sec . press the panic button, etc......
Did the complete procedure a few times but i never get the "chime" that lets you know its in programming mode. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the rke module. Does anyone know if a snap-on scanner will show anything with the rke or is this going to have to go to the dealer?

i don't think you have to reprogram them after you change the battery, i'd say its a module problem

just take your old battery put a multimeter on it and see if theres power.. that will tell you if the battery actually is bad- always check fuses an switches first when your diagnosing

I did check all the fuses to make sure there wasn't a power supply problem to the rke module just forgot to mention that. I suppose I'm probably going to have to stop by the dealer. I just don't want to spend the $$$
