Default a/c blower growl

I just purchased an '02 Q/C 4x4 with a 5.9. It has 41,000 mi. When you turn the a/c fan on higher speeds it makes a growling noise. It just started doing this.

I test drove another truck before purchasing mine. It had 44,000 mi and the 4.7 motor. It was already making this noise.

Does anyone know if this is a possible recall repair. If not, what is involved in fixing this. i.e. Can you get to the blower motor without taking the dash out ?

Mine does the same thing, Mine is a 2002 q/c 5.9 with 60,000 miles. Wierd. Sounds like something is jammed in the heater blower fan.

weird! I've got the 03' QC Hemi. I bought it with 19k mi. Had the same noise on the fan. Both AC and Heat. About 5k miles later, it stopped doing it. I just figured I had something stuck in the fan or something.... now I'm wondering... I don't know about any recall issues. I'll look into it...

You might try removing the blower motor and inspecting for trash. The only recall on this truck that involves the blower motor, is the blower motor wiring recall, but this recall won't fix any noises.

Probably a leaf or something. Someone had the same problem here a while back and traced it down to a leave being in the blower.

Hasn't happened on my Ram yet, but did on my Wrangler. It was about the same as the stuff mentioned on the Ram. Stayed for like a month, then was gone. Could well have been a leaf or some similar crap that got in it. Pulling the blower motor will tell you for sure, but it's a PITA.
