Like I said Weed, If it were the TIPM, Why is the fuel gauge a symptom? Quick look at the Schematics shows me the fuel gauge doesn't interact with the TIPM, It connects directly into the cluster. You would think the dealership would take that issue into account before randomly throwing things at the truck.

Personally throwing that in makes me think its a power supply issue, Ground issue, or the cluster itself.

On a side note, It amazes me how complex these new clusters have gotten. Sheesh you can't even replace a burnt out light w/o replacing the whole cluster, Thats just nuts.

traker, I did the whole IC test already. Guages swept but no indicator lights illuminated. I do hear an initial ding when I start the truck up, but I can't visibly see what guage is illuminating?
I could replace the IC myself with the exception the mileage must be programmed via Starscan.
I'm getting a high input code for the fuel sending unit. I'll grab the code when i get home.
I had printed all the Alldata schematics and tests out and did them before I went to the dealership. Problem is they are gonna likely tear apart the entire dash, so I'll have to pull all that stuff off before I bring it in because they always break clips and scratch the chit outta interior parts.

Does it? Seems I read somewhere information like Vin and Milage is actually stored in the ECU and the new Guage cluster is updated when truck is first powered on. However I also read that each cluster is locked to the VIN once it is first installed, Meaning no using a used cluster. All your problems really do sound like a bad IC. I hope im wrong, Dang things are pricy.

My alldata connection from home isn't logging on tonight for some reason. Ill lookit up to be sure when I get a chance.

The info right from Alldata said that the IC's are self learning/programming based upon the vin ID and YES it tags itself with the vin so there is no way to buy a used one to make it work. I wouldn't do that anyways. I only have 8400miles on this beast. I'd want a new one, but the dealer would have to insert the mileage and due to NYS law, only a certified tech can perform an IC change because of potential mileage fraud.
I'm going to do a few circuitry tests that I have printed out so I can be cocked and loaded when I get to the dealer. Basically, I want to tell them I need a New IC if that's the case(most positive) and I'll be in when it arrives..lol They'll still wanna probe away, but the more info I have, the quicker this will get resolved.
I also have a SRS malfunction code too, that could be because I unplugged the connector under the driver seat before going in for service(I didn't want anyone touching my seat settings...lol)

Like I said, Mileage is stored in ECU, Once the new IC is installed the mileage on the IC automatically gets updated. I don't even think the dealer with starscan tool can change the mileage.
