Default VERY confused about HID kits

I talked to a guy earlier on the phone about the dual ccfl halo lights i bought and he said if i was driving in open country alot i would need a Hid kit?

I thought halo and Hid were two different things? and if i hooked up the hid kit to my halos would that just make my halos more bright or what?

also can anyone tell me if the halos i bought have blinkers and hi low beams?

and one more question on their website before checking out in their disclaimer it says these headlights are for offroad purposes or show purposes....does that mean they wnt work as headlights? or is that something they have to say cause they are aftermarket

HID is the head light bulb. Halos are a lighted ring that goes around the outside of the lip.

so that ring is just for looks and there is an hid bulb in the middle of that? so you think i need to go ahead and by an hid kit or wait and see what it looks like

also what bulb comes with the halos? or in the center of them?

Yeah the ring is just for looks, nothing else.

There is a bulb in the middle of that but most after market projectors like those use halogen bulbs and not HIDs although they can be made to use HIDs. The issue with most is they are not MADE for HIDs and do not have the same projector type as HIDs do nor do they have a cutoff shield so yuo will not blind on coming traffic.

HID kits are another 45+ a kit and can range all the way up to 150+ a kit.

You also need to tell us what year truck yours is. You do not NEED HID's although they will put out more light.

Is there a bulb that comes with the halos? That depends on who you bought them from. Maybe he supplied you one, maybe not. If not then you have to but some. Most take H11 type bulbs but you need to get with who you bought them from and make sure

Again, the halo rings are JUST for looks and will NOT give enough light off to see with at night. You still need some sort of headlight bulb whether it be halogen (stock) bulbs and a HID bulbs with a full conversion kit.

You can buy local or on ebay but the bulbs you likely want are H11 type bulbs. But Silverstars are better than OEM halogen but less than HIDs. They are anywhere from 20-40 a pair depending on where you get them.

not to mention if you put in HIDs, you have to deal with the computer as I am dealing with now. If you get a 55W kit with a 55W bulb you wont have a problem, but if you get the most common 35W kit you have to trick the computer into thinking its 55W by using resistors and such. The projectors direct the light better then a conversion kit. I think it was said why here, because it does not have the shield...if you are going HID then make sure you research before you buy...

how do you tell if it has the shield or not...or do all halo lights not have the shield?....i think i read somewhere that the guy with the white dodge in snow....has hids and the exact halos im getting...so does that mean he has the shield? also how do you make sure it takes an h11 bulb
