I have a 2006 with the auto and it allows me to shift from park to gear without pushing in the brake with the truck running. It wont let me if the key inst in it though.

Any ideas?

 

I have not ever looked to see where that trans/gear lock is at. I do know it is not supposed to allow the trans to shift in to gear without your foot on the brake. However, because it is stopped physically, I would be looking inside the steering column and ignition switch since that is where it is physically stopped at.
