Default locating the ISC motor

Hello all, just joined the forum after lurking for a while. I love my 2005 Ram 4.7, but it's developed the dreaded stall at idle. I want to clean the idle speed control motor, but i don't know the best way to access it, or even exactly where on the TB it's located. Can someone advise on the actual process for someone who wants to attempt DIY before taking it to the shop. I began to remove the intake box ontop of the motor to access the TB, but it seems it's attached on the bottom by a bracket attached to the alt, and is kinda tricky to remove. Any help is greatly appreciated.

James

I had the same problem, you just need to take off your throttle body and give it a good cleaning. your going to have to take off the 4.7 intake that sits on top of the intake manifold that connected to the throttle body. there's 4 or 5 bolts connected to brackets in weird places but, it not hard to get off, you'll figure it out as your going. then you need to start by unplugging the two different connectors on the drivers side part of the throttle body. The throttle body has two senors on it, IAC sensor, and TPS sensor. the will stay on the throttle body when you take it off, and you can remove them and clean them you already have it off the truck. To get the throttle body off theres 3 bolts 8mm in size. you also have to disconnect the throttle wire and cruise control wire on the passenger side of the throttle body, they just pop off. Clean it all up with brake cleaner, then reassemble.
