What are you trying to gain from changing years? Why not after market?

 

I really doubt it, the sizes of those things typically change when the body style changes (from 08 to 09). The bezel just won't fit it properly, you would need to buy an 09 bezel, which wouldn't fit in an 08. I would just get an aftermarket one. You can probably save yourself some money, and if you dont want one oh the ones that are like an inch tall or a a touchscreen, they make some that look like a stock radio. Not to mention it will do a lot more and have tons of features that our stock radios dont have.

 

Yes, it will. Functionality may be an issue with specific head units (some things have to be starscan activated), like the backup camera screens, etc. MyGigs can be retrofitted (with a lockpick) all the way back to '06. All the newer vehicles using the CANBus pretty much have the same almost square box head units.
