Default Weird coolant/heater problem???

My 2002 4.7 is gurgling in the heater core when I cold start my truck in the mornings. I have flushed the entire system (even isolated the heater core by itself) and bled it several times over a few day. I am wondering if my heater core hoses are maybe turned around. Would this make any difference? I would think looking at the diagram below that the water pump would force water through the core and shove any air out that is in there, but it has me scratching my head. Can someone physically look at there truck and tell me how the heater core hoses are routed? Like does #9 go to the driver or passenger side on the core? Thanks a bunch!

Aaron
