You have lousy timing, I live near Lynchburg but am out of the country. There is a couple other folks on the forum that live in the area that may be able to help. Basically I think you need a small grinder to cut the bolts. Harbor frieght has some cheap grinder that would do the job. Good luck...

School have automotive shop or welding shop? A oxy acetylene make short work of those bolts.

If his nerfs are like mine and use the body mount bolts to attach them, how would a torch help?

I can get anything out with a torch, Just can't promise you it will ever be put back in again.

I have never actually looked at the mountings for these bars, Didn't realize they were using body mount bolts, figured it was some kind of subframe setup like my old truck used.

This thread got me thinking, Wonder how hard it would be to rhino coat mine?

ya its held on with brackets mounted to the frame and bodyand than the nerf bars are bolted on to to the brackets.. tonight im gonna go pick up a hack and see if I can at least take off the one that is hanging.. on another note, it rained like crazy yesterday and my trucks windows were wide open.. now whenever i open the door the dinger wont stop... i cant figure out why?

moisture?? Better leave them down out in the sun so the inside can dry out before you get mildew and it stinks.
