Default T Stat & SC 3865 ?

Do I need to return my truck to stock, or tune again after installing 180 tstat? Many threads on pro & con debates of 180 tstats, but seems to be a majority vote for it if you run a 93 tune.

You do not need to return to stock nor re-tune after adding a 180* stat

Everything will be fine. You can reset the PCM if it makes you feel better though.

Thanks weed, no need to feel better. I just want to do it right; there seem to be different thoughts on install process. I assume you mean disconnect battery ground? If it's not necessary, than I will not waste the time.

Restting the PCM can have other beneficial effects such as resetting the fuel trims (how the truck "learns" your driving habits).

To reset my PCM I pull the PCM fuse. Then I insert my key in the ignition and turn it on-off-on-off-on and leave it in the on position until it dings ocne and then two more times. Then I turn it off and replace the fuse. On my 04 it is fuse 23 in the PDC but on yours it will be different.

This keeps you from also losing any radio stations and settings memory as well as any thing else likes clocks, ECT.
