Default Trouble starting

When I turn the key to start my truck nothing happens like the battery is dead. After about 3 to 5 sec's it will turn over and try to start but will not run. If you get it to turn over and try to start you can hold the gas pedal down and it will run that way but only that way. I've changed the crank shaft position mod, and the starter switch. It through a code one time and it was the crank shaft position mod. Anyone have this problem or have any ideas. My truck is a 2005 ram with a hemi quad cab.

Well we certainly need some more info, Does the starter have any trouble turning the engine over at all? What all codes are you getting now?

You may have a bad TPS? Or maybe it just needs to be re-calibrated maybe? Loose/corroded battery cables, Just throwing out ideas here. Could be a number of things, but a code would help.

No problem turning over. I did put in a new battery just because the other one was 5 yrs old. It only showed one code about a month ago. It was crankshaft position sensor and I changed that and ignition switch. Other than that no codes.

Like said before, look at the TPS, also you may want to pull the throttle body and clean it with some non-chlorinated brake cleaner. Check on the EGR valve which is also something that gets pretty gummed up. When was the last time you just gave her a full tune up with plugs, etc????

Hey thanks did a part tune at 70000 changed plugs. It got bad enough now that the dealer has it now and they said they had no clue but could be the tps like you you said. So we will see. They wanted to work on the charging system. Just put new battery in 4 months ago. Could be battery but i don't thank so. Thanks again for your help, it does give me some ideas. Question the tps sensor will keep the motor from turning over as soon as you turn the key causing a 3 to 5 sec delay?
