Default Need help please!!!!!!!!!!

I just installed a new K&N CAI and love the gains from it. BUT it's making a weird noise now that's really pissin me off!!! When i get on it it sounds great but when i'm just cruising around 45 MPH it makes this weird knocking sound. Not a bunch of knocking just a single knock and when it does it if i stay at that speed it kinda growls untill i let off the gas. I hate when my truck makes any abnormal noise if anyone has ever heard of something like this please help. also all suggestions are welcome!!! Thanks in advance.

Need help with what? Title your thread with what you need help with

A knock? I know that my K&N kit needed a little bit of padding under the end to keep it from vibrating...you say a single knock, is it happening once or alot? Mine whistles at around 45

A knock or a metal on metal flapping sound? It is normal to hear the sound of the EGR valve opening and closing rapidly when you install a CAI. It is especially loud when you have a metal tubed intake.

The "HEMI Hat" is a baffle that minimizes this sound, eliminate the baffle, you gain performance but also the sound of the EGR...

thanks, it's a real hard noise to describe it's more like a pop. I took it out tonight and on this long stretch of road if i went around 40mph and kept it there it would happen then i would let off the gas and then go 40mph again and it would do it again so on and so on.:icon_shrug

Just got my superchips programmer today and it was really easy to use. Set it to the 91 octane setting and am very happy with the results!!!!The noise that i was hearing was my MDS because when i disabled it it went away(so far). I guess when i changed to the new CAI and removed the HEMI hat i could hear it.I'm gonna wash it up tomorrow and take some pics and post them. Thanks for everyones input.
