This is incorrect. It Definately matters what wheel you have. The stock 17" wheels you will need to cut the studs as the backside is flat from what i have been told.
The factory 20" wheels have recessed notches on the backside that will allow a portion of the studs to protrude into, so no cutting will be needed depending on how far they are sticking out??.
There is a good 1/4" of recess on the backside of the wheels, so that means if there's up to 1/4" of lugs that stick out past the spacers, the wheels can be mounted with no interference.
You just dont want the lugs contacting the wheels because the wheel may not sit flush against the spacer and can cause problem going down the road.

Even with a dremel and a diamond circular blade it would take forever. You would be better with a sawzall.

A sawzall?..lol

I know a sawzall is a universal tool, but c'mon man. That's hilarious.

I could see the OP taking a sawsall to his lugs and the blade bouncing all over the place.
I'd agree a dremel would take quite a while; however, I think an air grinder or even an electric grinder would be much more feasible. That's what I used on my mustang studs when i first put on spacers before i got new wheels. The only thing I did not like about grinding down the studs, was the lug nuts were a PIA to thread on everytime I took the darn wheels off. I would be very weary of a garage stripping the threads because of that. Something you would want to warn them about so they are aware of the possibility.

I think Weed is a sawzall guy, kind of how some people say a dremel does everything and others use tape for everything

i have seen numerous threads where he advised on a sawzall lol

Hey, I used it on my frame end rails when doing the bumper mounts for my body lift. I tried using an cutting disc on an air tool and it took too long. A good saw blade did it in less than 5 mins though.
