Default Day Time Run Lights

Just had the TIPM replaced and I noticed some different thing with the truck. When ignition is shut off the radio stays on and I can roll up the windows as long as I don't open a door first. I thought cool. But I noticed tonight I have day time running lights. I looked at the owners manual and it said something about only on Cananda and commerical trucks. Is there a way to take the DRL and turn them off. I have a preference to run w/o them.

If anything I'm sure its a programming thing but I have had a lot of issues (electrical and fuel) with this thing.

Could this also be the cause for excessive fuel consumption and smoke?

2006 quad cab 5.9L diesel w/129k miles. Bought used 5 months ago.

The dealership can change it . It maybe on the TIPM the country code could have been Canada. I would go ever to who changed it out have have them do it if not it can get pricey

And you are right about only the CN trucks having it by default. I wish I had a Starscan tool I could spend some time with and play with

That's what I was hoping you would all say. I'm hoping since it was just done they will remove it w/o charging.

Thanks again.
