Yep. Ill 3rd the notion that they simply unscrewed it and walked off with it.

Are you sure it didn't just "fall off"? Because i gotta tellyou, my antenna has come loose several times. I've take a wrench to it each time and then i finally got fed up with it and put a dab of loctite on the end of it.
What happens is it wobbles going down the road alomst in a circular pattern and that is what loosens it up. I've watched it do it while driving down the road and when i pulled off the road to tighten it up, it had 2 turns left before falling off.

Just something to keep in mind when installing another.

2nd this..

But I don't put loctite on mine.. every car wash in my area takes it off and I just have to go in and tighten it after the wash.

they just unscrewed it. And yeah carwashes make me take mine off, when my truck used to fit in a car wash. Now I don't have to take it off anymore.

If mine stayed on the pavement, then yes.

Too many mesquite trees pin stripe her for free(LOVE FREE!) so what's a crap car wash going to do? :P I'll see if I can get a pic uploaded tomorrow, but it usually buffs out.

Yeah that is something to keep in mind...But it was odd that it was on there for less than a 2 min drive and it was gone that morning
