Is it throwing any codes?

Does it only do it when hot?

I asked that because in your video the idle seemed fine.

I'd say it's within the tune and nothing wrong with the install.
You could try bumping up the idle a little bit to see if that helps??

Did you reset the pcm after the cam install?
Maybe the idle was good when you shot the video because the initial start-up idle is relatively high? Just a thought, cuz i know thee things can get frustrating.
I'm gonna move this thread back over to Tech for ya.

it started twice and idled good for about 10 mins... then it went choppy and stalled out... next battery was dead. bought a new battery. still the same thing. the consensus now is that a rod maybe be popped and not seated. gonna pull the valve covers tomorrow and check

That's strange that you have no battery power?? that should be completely isolated from a valvetrain issue.
If you find nothing with your valves, then take your alternator off and have that checked because the truck runs off the alternator and not the battery.

keep us posted.

Well, the battery could have gone bad due to the truck draining power from the battery instead of the alternator. A bad or faulty alternator can destroy a perfectly healthy battery. A vehicle won't run without an alternator but should still atleast have power to radio, dome light..etc

I guess I'm a bit confused on what you stated here. "Still the same thing" meanng the new battery is dead too or your truck surges still? I guess that sorta went over my head because a battery has nothing to do with your idle.

anyways....

Thats very possible and an easy fix and something I worried about 2 weeks ago when i did the Crazy Spartan Job. So I turned the crank bolt around with my Ratchet (2 plugs removed) and watched that each Rod was moving nice and that I could also rotate the push rod as well with my fingers to confirm they were still sittin in the Cup.

Best regards Silver.
