Default sparkplug question

how often should you chnage your spark plugs? i have an 04 ram and bought it used with 23,000 miles on it. i think they might still be the factory spark plugs. should i change them at 30,000 or should i do it now?

Plugs are due every 30kmi. Since you have very low mileage going on a 7yr old vehicle, i would definately change them at 30kmi!
Dodge reccomends basic copper plugs. Champions, NGK..etc Just stay away from high end overpriced plugs. These engines are tuned and optimized for the cheaper plugs.
if you have the Hemi, you'll need 16plugs. 4.7L has only 8. 3.7L has 6.
Preventative maintenance can never hurt either, but at 23kmi, I doubt they need to be touched yet.

If in doubt, change them out. They are only less than $2 a plug

and from my understanding..the 4.7 does not have wires???

seemed weird to me to since i came from the 01 5.9L which had cap/rotor and wires. i am still figuring out what to change for the plugs. but yes +1 on copper plugs. walmart sells champion and autolite

Either does the newer 06+ Hemi... All COP's (Coil on Plugs) now.
