HELP!!! Interior Dome Light

Default HELP!!! Interior Dome Light

So when i change the Dome light in my truck to some LED lights the car bugs out or something. It sets off my alarm. I have the dealer alarm KARR security alarm system. Can anyone help with this issue?

does it stay glowing even when the truck is off

actually like when i push the unlock button all three of the interior lights strobe. The two lights towards the front and on the roof of the car are fine but as soon as i change the middle dome light it starts to strobe and sets off my alarm. so i have to eplace it with my stock bulb

tie in a 220ohm resistor in there, tons of threads on this

I think the current draw is setting the alarm off

well i haave a festoon led bulb how would i tie that in? Also it sets the alarm off after some time. after i engage the alarm its chill for about 30 secs. and the lights are not even on.

weedahoe will jump in tomorrow and help you out with the festoon bulb thing, he knows more about the LEDs

The resistor would go from one terminal to the other. parallel with the bulb, meaning stretching across the bulb so the ceramic of the resistor would be centered in the bulb and each end would be soldered to the metal ends of the bulb.
It's so easy it's hard to describe...lol
