Default Need Tire Sizeing Help!!!.

Hey everyone,

I have a 2006 Mega cab 1500 I recently put a Maxx Staxx 3" Coil spacer in and 1.5" in the rear I currently have BFG A/T's 315/70/r17 and really don't like them, they throw rocks like crazy and I have been told have a weak sidewall? When I get new tires I would like to go taller and wider if possible without having to buy AM rims, whats the best idea here? I like the look of M/T's if that helps but it's not that critical.

Thanks

Do you have the "P" or "LT" version? The P are basically car tires, while the LT have more plies in the sidewall and are tougher tires.

I'm guessing from the 70 aspect ratio that they're P rated tires.

You are basically at a 35x12.50 tire. The next size up would be a 37inch tire. You'll have to go away from metric street tires and start looking at off road stuff. I wouldnt go wider that a 12.50. It would be horrible on the road and cost a crap load more. Ignore the fact its a jeep site. Look here at 37x12.50x17 and see what you like. I would suggest something like a bfg at, but good luck.

Do you think I would be able to clear 37's? I cleared the 315's with no lift in and added like I said 3 inches to the front and 1.5 to the rear? Thanks

You would be increasing the height by two inches and that means the radius will be increased by one inch. So look at your tire now and imagine and extra inch all the way around. So if your fender and tire are 5 inches apart then they will be four inches apart with the 37's.

Thanks. My 3157017's seem to be only measuring around 33.5 inches that is with the weight on them however. I'm thinking I will just go to 35x12.5x17 as I think the 37's will fill the fender to much and I don't like that look. Right now I have about 11.5 inches of space from top of tire to bottom of fender well so that would only change by an inch but lift up the truck another inch aswell. I really wanted to go 6" lift but man they are expensive so this was the cheapest alternative. I also had to put a BD Diesel stabilizer bar on because I had bad death wobble before but it's gone now. Thanks for your help.
