just wondering if anyone is using the vr itake in a snow climate? and if so how is it? does it plug up? i've been searching around a bit but can't seem to find the info i'm after. any input would be great

 

I know a guy who has one around here with me but we get no snow so that doesnt help. They look cool though.

 

I never gave snow a thought, the reason I don't have one because I wouldn't trust it for even shallow water crossings off-road...

 

i don't think running that in the snow is a good idea maybe take the flexible tubing off it for the winter, or else you will be sucking in snow and thats not good

 

As long as you are not driving through drifts or deep snow that is as high as the opening, it will not suck any in or clog the tubes.

If you are going to do that, unhook the tubes, you will be sucking in hot air from the engine bay, but you will be fine.

 

I personally wouldn't do it. Snow falls at night could build up and block your holes and get sucked into them when you turn on the engine.

I lived in MN for almost 6 years. If you're going to drive when it snows you know it is slushy and cars in front of you like to throw slush.

I suppose if you take the tubes off like they are saying that would remedy that problem, may even be better for it not taking in the freezing cold air.

 

thanks for the replys, never crossed my mind to thinki of taking the tubes off for winter. i'm still debating an intake but this is the front runner so far. at3030xl goes on hopefully this weekend and then its intake time. thanks again for the input
