Default What rims fit.

Hey guys, im new to this generation Ram, so I was wondering what rims will fit my 08' 1500. Its got the stock aluminum 17's, but Ive been looking for a set for winter time to run and havent found any, there are alot of 16" rims off the 2nd generation Rams, will the 5 bolt versions fit my 08' Five bolt, im looking at the brakes and theres not much room to give, so im guessing no. Thanks! (searched this topic and came up empty handed so I had to ask.)

16's wont clear the calipers.
Bolt pattern is 5x5.5"
17x8" ---> 5.25" backspacing(19mm offset)
17x8.5 ---> 5.5" BS same 19mm offset
17x9 ----> 5.75" BS same 19mm offset
The backspacing is minumum, so if you went lower say 4.5" backspacing, you can run a wider tire. The lower the backspacing the further out the fender your wheel will stick out.
I'm assuming your wanting standard size tires for winter tires, so a standar 8" rim will work perfect.

I figured right then about the calipers, ah well. Yeah, I think I'll just stick with the standard width, I'll try to trade down a set of chrome steelies. Thanks!
