Default Engine missing

2005 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Regular Cab 4x4. Everything's stock except for custom dual exhaust. A week ago, I got on it and it started missing bad. Was only doing it once I got on it. Thought maybe it was bad gas so I filled it up at another station. Running 89 octane. It still misses when I get on it, but it doesn't seem to do it all the time. Does it sometimes when its warm or cold. Seems to only happen above 3000rpm. Cleared the code by removing the Negative battery cable. Then did it again. Any ideas?

Well what was the code before you cleared it? When was the last time you changed plugs or wires or pertinent maintenance? How many miles are on the truck?

Sure sounds like plugs. Perhaps coils.

I haven't replaced anything yet. Bought it with 94k and now has 104k. I didn't want to just go replacing things until I knew what was wrong. Shouldn't it miss all the time if its bad plugs or coils though?

Not necessarily. But if you bought it used and with 94+ on it you should be changing out everything on it just so you know it has been done and taken care of.

Hoses, belts, ALL fluids, brakes, shocks, plugs and wires, air filters, checking ball joints and wheel bearings, ECT.

Stopped in at Advance a little bit ago. 4 codes. Multiple cylinders missing. Crankshaft sensor system failure. Looks like I'll be replacing my Crankshaft Sensor this weekend.

When you talk about codes, if you know them, you should post them so we know exactly what they are and what you are talking about.

I didn't know them to begin with...I should've just had it scanned in the first place. I don't know why I don't trust the scanners. They're pretty specific and accurate.

Getting a tuner with ODBII scanner capabilities is something almost every one here has and they have them for many reasons. Dont worry, we will help you out.
