35/12.50/20 on stock 20's??? Questions!

Default 35/12.50/20 on stock 20's??? Questions!

I apologize if this has been asked before. I did search but can not find the specifics.

I know that to run 35/12.50/20 I will need a 2"+ level.

My wife destroyed one of my tires on Sunday. I'm not mad because they were shot already and I had been shopping (Hell, now she even feels bad about it! )

Here's my question. Can I fit the tires to my truck and stock 20's temporarily without the level? I realize turning I may get some rubbing, but can I get by a week or so?

I will get a level kit, but at the moment I need tires, and I'm NOT buying another 275/60/2- Wrangler(worst tire ever!)

Also, there is a Tire thread in the FAQ secion HERE

Long search short. NO, you'll need spacers because the tires will rub on the inside. Go take a look at your current tires right now and see how close they are to the upper control arm balljoint!

Thanks for posting that link, it was very helpful. Basically, it seems there's no way to run them, even temp, without at least a 1.5" wheel spacer.

As I said in my OP, I apologize if my question was redundant, I'm sure it gets annoying but I really couldn't find the answer.

You have an 02 4x4 correct. If so, you can crank your torsion bars to get the lift/level and you will be able to clear the 35s. You may have some rub when turning at full lock, but just don't turn that sharp until you get some wheel spacers.

Glass- THANK YOU!!

Yes, I have a '02. If I just crank the T Bars, will I push my shock out of alignment? The 12.5" wide tire will clear the arms?

i'm running 35x12.50x18's on my 05 4x4 with a [EDIT] +18mm offset, basically same offset as stock rims. After cranking the t-bars you will fit with a bit of rub at full lock if any, now you will need new shocks that are 2" longer, if you don't the ride will be real ruff and the shocks will top out

Don't forget an ALIGNMENT A.S.A.P.

Stock wheels have a Positive 19mm offset. You have a negative 18mm offset. That is just about a 1.5" difference. meaning, your wheels are pushed out almost 1.5" further than stock.

No OP, you need spacers. And YEs, anytime you alter the suspension even installing new shocks, you need to have an alignment done.

YES....if you do anything to your suspension other than swapping shocks, get an alignment.

Your shocks will be ok for the time being, but you should go to a longer shock.

What width are your wheels? Are they 9"ers?
