New to forum- air intake question
A "COLD air intake" will produce more HP as the cold air is more dense and the PCM will dump more fuel, making more power (at a slight MPG LOSS)
A "HOT air intake" is basically what we all have UNLESS it's routed for pure outside air (which would be nice, but I can't do short of a snorkel, with hunting in the south Ga. swamps and all). More HOT air will cause the PCM to lean the mix slightly, resulting in LESS power but better fuel economy.
These differences are minor however, in either case, with just a CAI.
Where a CAI comes into play is when you have other mods that work better with MORE air, like headers or a better flowing exhaust in general. Then a CAI (be it either cold or hot) helps these mods scavange exhaust more efficiently, thus increasing performance and in many cases, fuel economy at the same time...

Thanks hammer that helps a lot. I am putting on a flowmaster catback system in a couple weeks, so what your saying is it would be a good idea to ad in addition to the exhaust, the CAI?
