Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and Dodge in general. I made an introduction thread already. But I have a couple questions. My truck, 2003 Dodge Ram 2500, has hazy windows, front passenger and driver. I tried to use invisible glass to clean them, but it is still the same. It's not greasy inside or out. Any ideas? As well, the spare tire is unable to under the bed like it is supposed to. Does anyone have a picture of what it is supposed to look like? I think the previous owners may have put in a different exhaust because when I try to put the tire in its spot, it gets caught on the exhaust pipe. I tried a google search and looking through the forum but couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance.

For the hazy windows there is a cleaner i use by "Rain X" seems to take alot of the crap off. Try buffing the windows with a hardening compound and it will restore the shine. As far as your tire carrier if it won't go up into its spot properly chances are your exhaust has been changed. the tire should make it up on its own without you having to be under there. If it were me I would just get a mount made for the box of the truck and mount the spare there. I hate having to chip mud off a spare to put it on the truck.

 

Was there ever any tint or something on the windows? Also, for the tire, is it stock exhaust or something custom from a shop?

 

Tint was my first thought, be sure it's not still on there. Wrong cleaners will fade it. I can't imagine your windows already fading.

As for the exhaust, I would go to the muffler shop and have them correct the issue. How often are you really going to need that tire?

 

It looks like there is something different than stock exhaust. Its ok though. Once I got money I was gonna get something better. I don't know if there used to be tint but i'll try to buffer them and see if it goes away. For the tire i'll just lock it up in the bed so no one runs off with it. Its a nice bfg. Not sure if this will help but take newspaper and crumble it up and rub in a circular motion on your windows, the oils clean the windows amazingly. Also I would try taking scotch brite pads and a bucket of water with a dab of soap in it, make sure the pads pretty wet and buff out the window.

 

Scratching it would make sense with the scotch pad. It looks like it had scratches already, but those scratches are where the window is clearest. Thanks for the tip

 

best thing i hace ever used to clean a window is a razor blade and once you have scraped the whole window just use some glass cleaner on it

 

I say you just tint the windows and hopefully remedy the problem that way "If you can't beat it...join it." anyway as for the exhaust go to the shop get some magnaflows hooked up. Mount your spare tire and call it a done deal. Knock a handful of mods out in one shot good luck. keep us posted!

 

Ok, so I tried to scrub and buff them, also tried vinegar and got nowhere. It looks like it's inside the glass cause we tried both sides. It's kinda strange. But I think we are gonna look into tinting them, it would be nice anyway. How much am I looking at for just the front driver and passenger windows? Would that fix it?
