Mine does that sometimes in the winter.
Ice in the plug, not the unit itself. Dry it out and put some spark plug boot grease (dielectric silicone) on the seal.

Could I get the part number from you RMK? I am having the same issue and I see 6 diff options for the unit on dodgeparts.

I had the same issue. Just went to the dealer and bought it. I don't have the little bag it came in anymore so I don't know the number sorry.

Same problem on my '04 Ram...runs perfect but makes ya a little nervous...So its a really cheap and easy fix though?

Seems like this is a common problem for most 04s. Mine does the exact same. Ill be going to get this fixed this week!

check your oil bra cause i checked for leaks, nothin so i asumed it was the sending unit. got busy fixin other cars put it off one day checked my oil it was bone dry so now i have to drop the engine and sped 500 bucks having the whole thing machined causr i burned throgh some bearings o play safe check it all

Ive been noticing a slight chatter for about a week or two. Kind of sounds like a heat shield on the exhaust or something. But then this morning when I first started the truck to let it warm up I came back out and my oil pressure was dropped down to nothing. Shut the truck off and restarted it and it's been fine ever since. You mentioned the chatter, what would that be?

lifters rattling because they aren't pumping up, smacking the top of the valve stems.

You really ought to tap a analogue guage into the oil pressure port with a tee to make sure you're getting pressure, the tapping suggests you aren't and could mean a new engine.
