Default tranny flush or pan drop??

Im getting ready to deploy and my wife is going to be driving my truck while im gone, so i want to make sure all the maintainence is done before i leave.. I have an 06 hemi 4x4 with 47,000 mi on it, I have never towed with it. Im wondering if its time to do a tranny flush on it or just drop the pan and change the filters.. What do you guys think? Also is it time to change the front and rear diff fluid?

front and rear diff are to be changed out every 15,000 miles. The service manual says 60,000 for tranny, but since the dodges are known for issues i did a full flush with the machine at 40,000. Also spark plugs are at every 30,000 so you may be past due on those. Air filter i drive on a lot of dirt roads so check on that. Seems simple, but window wipers. Also well your at it on the tranny flush i would have the transfer case drained.

Rock auto 16 spark plugs ran me $30
7 quarts 5-w20 royal purple and napa gold filter $85
tranny flush jiffy lube $235
transfer case flush jiffy lube $45
front and rear diff flush jiffy lube $80
k&n recharge kit for aif filter $20
wipers autozone $20

ya it was an expensive trip and long weekend, but if you don't keep up on don't expect it to last.

i had to bring the filters and gasket to jiffy lube. I picked it up at advance for $12 i think. Make sure to call around because only 1 out of like 5 jiffy lubes we have in my town has the machine to do the tranny flush and that 1 is the only place that i have found so far other than the dealer to have a machine.

The only thing I would add is that I don't like the idea of using the flush machines for the transmission. I would either do a manual flush, or just drop the pan for a straight up fluid and filter change. Do a search for transmission flush , or look in the DIY section, and you will find a detailed procedure of how to do it. I also don't think it's a good idea when doing a manual flush to let the pump run to the point that the fluid sputters out. As soon as the flow decreases, I would shut the engine off. Make sure to disconnect the trans lines after the cooler so it can be flushed as well.

Man, you should avoid Jiffy Lube like the plague. It's likely they won't even flush it, much less take the pan down and change the filters.

Do a drop 'n' drain and change the filters yourself. You'll know it's done and correctly.

Agreed just drop the pan and change both filters and let it all drain while your cleaning the pan. Just did mine the other day and got almost 10 qts in her. As long as you do regular maintenance this should be fine.

I bought the filters today from napa, wanna double check and make sure these are the right P/N 1-9762 for the pan filter and gasket, and P/n 1-8593 for the screw on.. These are both napa brand filters, the pan filter says it replaces PURO P1271.

Did you use the new cork gasket, with or without rtv, or did you just use rtv and no gasket?

The one i got from NAPA had a rubber gasket... and yes i used it. I put a little RTV on the pan to hold the gasket in place. But i ended up using the filters i got from the dealership just to make sure they were the right ones. The napa i go to didn't show the spin on one in there computer. But the flat ones looked the same.
