Default Which brakes pads to get

Odd question: I've got a 2008 1500 MegaCab and need to replace the front brake pads - so I've been checking prices out online. The problem is though, I know that the megacab frame is the 2500, but is that the same for the brake calipers too? The vehicle selectors on many online sites don't allow for different model breakdowns, just 1500 or 2500 with an engine choice.

For example: EBC gives two different brake pad model numbers for their yellow stuff depending on if it's a 1500 or 2500 in their vehichle seletor. Additionally green stuff pads only come up for 2500 model...

I'm going to be using the pads on the stock rotors for now. Truck is used as a daily commuter and for towing a boat (~6000 lbs). If anyone has brake pad suggestions that are low dust with good stopping power I would appreciate it as well. (ceramics?)

Got ripped off by the dealer when doing the rear pads, and don't feel like paying that much for them to do it anymore.

Thanks!

The Mega Cab is on a 2500 frame. You need the 2500 pads . the EBC pads are good ones

Yep, 2500 pads. Always been partial to EBC and Hawk pads myself...

Granted I have a 1500, but I have EBC rotors and Yellowstuff pads on my truck, and they work much, much better than the stock brakes. Although, I'm not sure on the Greenstuff pads, but the Yellowstuff are not really low dust.

As heavy as these trucks are and if you pull any big load or trailer then you will be changing pads even more often. I have a big issue paying high dollar for pads that are not lifetime warranty. So for that reason I use Autozone Cmax ceramic pads. At $60 a set and LLT warranty, I just go get another pair if needed.
