Default What do they do?

Picked up my 03 2500 tonight. This is the one with the overheating problem where they wound up pulling the heads. Well now there's a sound coming from the windshield right in front of the steering wheel. It only happens hitting bumps which is lots out here in the country, and kind of sounds like something rubbing on the windshield. It was dark when I picked it up so I can't really see anything. Would they have removed that plastic piece at the bottom of the windshield for better access to the engine? Then maybe fastened it either too loose or tight maybe. I guess it could be a coincidence but I kinda doubt it as it never made any hint of a noise before .

It's the fact that they pulled the heads. Things look pretty tight back there and I wondered if they removed anything, maybe even the hood to help with better access. She'll be good and light here in another hour and I'll have a better look.

Kinda sounds like the dash did in my 2nd gen... after i partially removed it to replace the heater core, it always seemed to "creek" a little bit when hitting large bumps.
