New guy from Minnesota
Hey everyone, I,m from Minnesota and own a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9l 4x4.
Love the truck...but the reason i found this site is because I am have some problems with it here it is,My battery gage will go low and battery will actually "die" but only if i turn the truck off if i leave her running it seems to stay charged, check gage light comes on also. I replaced my Alternator , battery and finally my pcm (because thats were the regulator is). I just put the refurbished pcm in today and still have the same problems any one have any ideas? I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 5.9l 4x4.

Check your current draw with the truck off. You'll need to disconnect the postive terminal of your battery and probe between the positive terminal you disconnected and the + terminal of the battery with a multimeter. You should not have more than 35-50ma of current draw. If you do, then you have a shorted wire or an open ground or something is not turning off.
Thanks. Sounds like it may be a open wire or short. how do locate where its comming from? The MAs read fine, but my new PCM is acting the same way, so thinking it may be one of the two Open wire or short.
Agreed, sounds like something is pulling the battery down so i dont think it is the alt/batt/PCM. I would pull a few fuses at a time and let it sit overnight and see what you have the next morning and start narrowing it down from there
Forgot to mention that the battery wont drain over night, starts up fine next morning if i shut the truck off with with some charge left on it. The battery will only drain down to L when truck is on and running.
Has anyone herad of jumping Dark Green/Orange wire at pin 12 to the white/darkblue wire at pin 25 at the gray pcm connector with a 10 amp fuse.
