rev limiter

Can anyone tell me if there is a rev limiter on my 03 5.9 ram 1500. This thing will pull hard to 5000 or 5100 and then it falls on its face, stuttering and dropping cylinders to the point of not even shifting to the next gear. Wasn't sure if this is the normal or not. ?

a problem that you describe should show up as some sort of computer malfunction? Is your truck under warranty?

This doesn't sound right to me. It shouldn't drop cylinders, but the engine is running of the cam at that RPM.
