Sound like transmission issue?
Guys,
Lots of great info here, I have been reading alot here and learning a bit. Got a problem on my truck I'm not real sure about. I just took possession of a new to me 2002 Ram 1500 Quad cab 4X4 with the 5.9L . This truck has 145,000 miles on it and looks like it was used to haul something big (fifth wheel cutout in bed). It also has a Kelsey brake controller mounted under the dash. The issue I'm having is when in (D) the truck acts like the brakes are sticking when starting to move from Park. Even on a slight incline the truck doesn't roll when in D. You have to really give it the gas to get it to start rolling. Once you let off the gas after it just starts to move it will immediately come to a stop like the emergency brake is sticking. I checked however and it is not. It seems like once it shifts out of first gear it feels more normal, but you have to really give it the gas to get going and this makes me think maybe the tranny is slipping? Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
