Unhappy tranny problem or no???

i drive a 2005 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with 92,000 miles. i have noticed lately that sometimes when i shift into drive or reverse it feels like there is a delay before it shifts into one or the other. i dont know if im just letting off the brake and giving it gas to fast or what or if its a problem or what. and sometimes when i shift from reverse to drive and am moving slow and about stopped and shift to drive and give it gas it will slip sometimes(i dont do that often.) any ideas about these. does this mean something is wrong or am i just giving it gas before it shifts or what? and for the second one is that bad or am i just making it do it because im not all the way stopped or what? any help with these is greatly appreciated. thanks.

its common for that to happen, the fluid drains out of the torque converter while sitting, and it takes a few secs to fill back up once its started/put in gear.

as for shifting from R to D or vise versa while still moving....... it might not be causing any problems, but i personally dont do it in any of my vehicles. IMO its just asking for trouble, especially given the track record of the trannys in these trucks.

Do you know if the trans fluid level is ok? Low fluid will cause that.
