throwin codes

I have an 07 ram 1500 with 48400mi. flomaster 40 with 3 in pipe cat back, K&N CAI, and Diablo Predator. i was driving today and as i left the toll booth i got a check engin light, checked it and its giving me p1404 and p0405 which both seem to have to do with the EGR. on the drive home it seemed fine on the highway. i was having a surging problem at low rpms which seems to be worse now than before the light came on

My question is: would this cause problems if i cant fix it right away? i have to work at least tomorrow before i can get it into the shop or even have time to work on it myself. i have a 60 mile round trip commute.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yeah your EGR is shot, usually occurs somewhere between 40-50k miles. It'll run a bit rough at idle and low rpms, get worse fuel economy but you can get by.

I'd really consider picking one up and swapping it out yourself. Cost at an auto parts store is like $35 where dealerships charge about $75. It's also about a 10 minute swap which only requires a basic socket set to get the two bolts holding it on. Most dealerships will nail you $90+ on the labor...
