So I'm changing radiator and decide to do a complete system flush...oops!
Mods, go ahead and delete
First off, 4.7L 1500 QC 4x4.
Doing some much needed maintenance and repairs such as, diff/trans/transfer service, plugs, oil change, and radiator replacement due to seeping seem. I decided remove the radiator, flush the system, replace the thermostat and call it a night leaving install for morning. All was going well until, the lower thermostat bolt seized and snapped leaving half of the bolt in. My question is this; am I correct in identifying this as the timing chain cover? I will attempt to do the 'ol drill/extract/tap method, but who knows how that will turn out.
Any help on identifying the correct name of said part is greatly appreciated. Just in case I need to seek a replacement.
Thank you in advance ladies and gents.
Never mind...answered my own question...ugh!!!

Good idea weed, thank you.
Btw, extractor bit snapped leaving a nice carbon hardened bit in the bolt. Removing timing cover to take it to a machine shop for extraction.
No idea why, but the portion that snapped off had alot of build up of corrosion causing it to seize and snap.
